Is our future transhuman?

Episode 10 · June 30, 2025 · 40 min

Picture a future where race, religion, and politics don't divide us. What divides us is whether you're transhuman. XO imagines eyes that see five miles and save memories on command, Neuralink going from medical help to required upgrade, enhanced athletes, and the green-bubble peer pressure that will make most of us sign up.

About this episode

Picture a future where race, religion, and politics don't divide us. What divides us is whether you're transhuman. XO imagines how it starts: with technology that helps blind and paralyzed people, like the first Neuralink patients, before it becomes an upgrade anyone can buy.

XO plays it out: eyes that see five miles and save memories on command, replacement body parts, enhanced athletes, the "make America human again" backlash, and the peer pressure, like texting with a green bubble, that XO thinks will get most people to sign up.

00Imagine a future where all of the things that currently keep us divided as a species gets basically eliminated. Things like race or religion or political affiliation, any of the things that keep us going at each other's throats in present day. Imagine a future where all of that just seems small, meaningless, trivial, something that you really even shouldn't be bothered with because the only main difference between us is are you a transhuman or are you not? This future is where a majority of humanity has decided to merge with technology. And there can be a whole bunch of different ways that we would be able to merge as um a species in this future. And of course on this spectrum, you might go from something simple that helps you see a little bit better, helps you hear a little bit better, maybe you know, gives you the legs that you've always wanted where you're able to be athletic even though you're very old.

08And then on the far end of the spectrum, on the other side, there's full-blown cyborgs that are able to alter everything about themselves to become superior in every single way. And in this future, that would be debated. What is superior? the halves and the have nots, the rebels, the ones that say, "I will never conform to this technological future that you guys are wanting to distill upon everybody." No, I'm going to live in the woods. I'm going to be 100% human. We going to and reproduce like we're supposed to. There's no designing babies, no trying to get the perfect DNA. No, none of that. No, we uh we like to be completely organic. We are the organic humans and we are trying to put our old ideologies on these weird transhumans.

18They well they they honestly they they aren't even anything that you could recognize. It started out so so small and it seemed so positive. There was only a few brave ones that were able to stand up and say, "Hold on. This doesn't seem right. This seems like something straight out of a horror movie. Let's slow down a little bit." But of course, technology is always going to race forward, and humans are going to continue to be the species that cranks the wheel and continues to pump out new things, shinier, better, newer. Of course, it started out so innocent. Let me tell you about the history of this future of transhumanism.

16See, it started out to help people that were disabled. They they don't have all of the abilities that a ordinary person would have. They may have been born blind. They may have been born deaf. They may have had some horrific accident. And unfortunately, that's left them paralyzed from the neck down. And we can't have this now in this transhuman f future, this uh utopia of a world. It's it's going to seem something of a barbaric past to think of people that actually had to live life, suffer, endure through that. That's that's crazy. Why would you ever Why would you ever make somebody do that? They just didn't know any better.

13They just didn't have the means. Yeah. So, it all started with trying to help people that fit into this category. Trying to help people that were considered brain dead. Let's Let's get their brain firing up. Let's go ahead and upload their brain to our servers. We need to make sure that we get all of this, we eradicate all of these disabilities. Because with one stroke, we can sign off and say, "Here you go. You're able now. You can see. And of course, you got things like Noralink that have already started.

15So people way back in 2025, they they started to get a whiff of this future. AI was becoming more and more powerful, but they didn't realize how powerful it could really be. Um h I wonder what is first. Are we going to make blind see again? Are we going to let the deaf finally hear again? You know, are you going to be able to hear music for the first time? Are you going to be able to finally see the color red, not just hear a description of it? Because the description still doesn't make sense. Because any way you can describe a color, you might say it's red like a rose. Red like a fire truck. I can feel the rose.

13I can hear the fire truck as it goes by to save whoever's in a burning building. But I don't know what red is. What the Hold on. Now, not only do I have these eyes, not only can I see for the first time, or hear for the first time, or am I finally not brain dead for the first time, or I can finally walk again for the first time in decades? Not only are you going to have these ordinary eyes, they're going to be upgraded, you're going to have a few enhancements. Yeah. And don't worry, you're going to like it. It's going to keep you safe. For one, anything that is uh used in augmented reality where you can see like different uh I don't know, let's say there are speed limits and uh traffic lights or whatever signs that that may be.

23People are able to now advertise in augmented reality and uh you can decide to turn that on or off with your eyes. You don't have to worry about wearing any glasses, anything like that. Um, but yeah, you'll be able to turn that on or off. And also when it gets dark, you know how sometimes it's hard to drive at night, sometimes it's hard to see at night. Don't worry, we got you. We got you covered. We're going to give you our newest transhuman eyes that allow you to see in the dark, man. Say hello to night vision. This is uh our new model. Don't worry, updates will be able to uh happen wirelessly. You don't have to worry about going through any surgery or anything like that. We'll be able to to install any updates remotely. But yeah, with this new model, you actually came at the right time.

24You'll be able to see at night. You'll be able to have not only 2020 vision, it's going to be able to enhance. You know, think about with your phone. Everybody wants to get the new phone, right? That can zoom in further and further while still keep keeping a crystal clear image. Never will you have to worry about that. Up to five miles with this one. Again, we're going to keep trying to update this, make this a lot better. But up to 5 miles, as long as nothing is, you know, in front of you, like, you know, can't see through buildings yet yet. X-rays coming soon. We have to just make sure we don't people up with cancer and But as long as it's it's an open path, you can see up to five miles in front of you as if they were right there. as if it was a fully HD picture or video.

23And uh anytime you want to keep any memories, let's say uh have you ever heard of like a Kodak moment? Just in general, if you if you feel like something is worth keeping as a memory, brand new feature, you just think it, it'll do it. It'll save it in your memory bank where you can always come back to that same picture or video. It depends on what you want. So, let's say you have a graduation, you're going to a wedding, seeing somebody's birthday, whatever the it is. If you want to I don't know. Get a little freaky in the bedroom. Make make a little porno. There you go. You got something right there. You didn't hear it from me, but you know, you can go ahead and store that in your memory bank. And um that's going to be encrypted.

20Of course, nobody will be able to see anything that you put in there. Um except for uh don't don't worry about that. You'll sign the user agreement. you won't really think about it because for one, uh, you can't see when you sign it. You're just like, "All right, eyesight." U, but don't worry, the the pros outweigh the cons. I shouldn't even be talking about this. I can get fired. Um, yeah. So, I went over the night vision. I went over You still got five mile range where you still get perfect sight. Um, I told you about the memory bank. Yeah, I think I think we're all good. Do you have do you have any sort of questions? No. No, you don't. Okay. Well, as a buy one get one half off type of situation, we got a special going on. We can actually upgrade your hearing as well.

17I I I understand that you can hear just fine. In fact, some say you might have enhanced hearing being a blind person for your entire life. I'd like to know if that's true. Um, just I just watched a lot of Daredevil type when I was a kid and it made sense. It made sense that you might become some sort of superhero. So now you have both, but just know we have the new transhuman ears in. Uh, it's no big deal. Remember that 5 mile range? Think 25 miles. That's how far you can actually hear things. Uh, it's not just our ears though. You can end up getting any basically any senses. You can get a transhuman tongue, transhuman nose, uh, transhuman hands. I know that I know it feels crazy, but you thought feeling some titties was good before. Imagine with some transhuman hands where you can it gets down to a cellular molecular level where you can actually feel every single bit of tit.

20That's that's that's I I I that's that's the best sales pitch for that one that I can give you. But yeah, man. Transhuman dick, you feel me? Um that's like think of uh what's it? Inspector Gadget. Go Gadget Dick. That thing just as as long as either of y'all want. You feel me? Um and I know you're probably thinking, "What? You have some sort of metallic thing that's coming out of me?" No, don't worry. We have our synthetic skin. So, transhuman skin will go on top of that as well. And um yeah, that's that's going to it's going to feel right. It's not going to be like some one of those remember what do they have decades ago? Like the dildos like it was like rubbery. They tried to make it feel realistic, but it never was. Yeah. None of none of that. It's going to She's going to think that that's your real skin. So, any new girls, they won't know unless you tell them.

18Um, but yeah, and just actually just try to slip it in. It's probably best if you actually give get them to sign some sort of um agreement like there's like if anything shall happen, you you don't want to get sued. Um, we've had a few cases where the go- go gadget dick uh go gadget extended all inside of that And talk about a lawsuit. Um, our user agreement actually keeps us clear. I know you were probably worried about us here at Transhuman Incorporated. But, uh, yeah, we we have that airtight. It's locked down. We got lawyers for this No, nobody's getting through. We're We're good. You You signed that away. So, just know I'm sorry. I know I over talk when I try to sell all these things.

14At the end of the day, I would love for you to just have a full body makeover. Our cyborgs are doing really well. Damn, bro. This would it would start off it would start off for real innocent. Like for real, think about how it would help like blind people, deaf people. I was talking about synthetic skin. Like for real, imagine that where you do have some sort of I don't and I don't know the science behind it. You could, you know what I'm saying? Ask a scientist for that. But imagine having some sort of transhuman synthetic skin that feels real and you can actually, you know, feel the sensation of touch wherever it is. Imagine burn victims that will be able to be helped with that. all of these things. Anybody with a heart will be able to look at that and be like, damn, that's just even if you think it's crazy, be like, whoa, that's crazy.

14But if you're in that situation, you feel me? How how how tight are your morals? How strong are your morals, rather, when you're actually that person that is burned? Half of your body is completely burned. or you're that person where you can't see, you can't hear, and you're put in that position. You can't walk. And yeah, I get it. Get around and like that. They make all of these cool little wheelchairs. that. This wasn't supposed to be my life is what I could only guess what these people are feeling. Unless you were maybe born that way, then it might feel more like this is life. But imagine going 20 years and you've been able to use your legs and bam, one car accident.

21There goes your legs gone. This wasn't supposed to be my life. How much do you have to lose? when you're put in a certain situation and it will be the people that will be able to benefit the most that will end up getting the majority of people to sign off on it in the beginning. You know what I'm saying? like that Neuralink is real and it's not like they just started putting it in to some you know, John Smith that's 30 years old from Ohio or some You know what I mean? It was I forget that um the guy but the guy had was in a wheelchair. I don't I don't know his exact, you feel me? Like what was going on with him, but it was supposed to help. It's meant to help. How long until it's something that it's an enhancement?

24You will get left the behind if you don't partake. If you don't get in with the crowd, the halves and the have nots. How long? Cuz I said it would help blind people at first. Let's stick with the the transhuman eyes, right? The ones where like I really I really be thinking deep on that All the things where you know they got the meta glasses and all of these different things that they're they're trying to come out with. Yeah. Contact lenses, but it's kind of a pain in the ass. You know, you can't you don't want to always just have to go. People get uh lasic eye surgery when you could get contacts. Um you have to continuously keep them moisturized and like that.

21You have to replace them and Whatever. It would be a hassle. Why not go ahead and just just switch them out? Just switch them out. It's going to look like your eyes. The only part that switched out is um where the pupil is around there. Again, I don't know the science, bro. But people won't be able to tell. People won't be able to know. And a cool thing is you could even alter your your eye color. What what eye color do you want to actually have? But no, man, I'll be thinking about that. Like of course they would allow people to zoom in. Of course, like the night vision. Of course with the augmented reality. Imagine like having like when you're playing a video game and it's a first person shooter. How you have all these different you see your life and how much ammo you have.

17Of course they would do that in ways that would be applicable to regular everyday people. But then let's think about Yeah. on some first person shooter Who would be next after the people that can't see? How about our soldiers and our police officers? That makes sense. I could see a lot of people signing off for that. Like, yeah, actually, it would be very helpful if they were able to have some sort of night vision. So, there may even be less, you know, shootings like accidental shootings where, oh my god, they got a gun. Oh, I could see perfectly clear now with my five mile radius all perfectly zoomed in in night vision, whatever. You know what I'm saying? Where like again, heat signature, I don't know, X-ray vision. Who knows what type of things that they can already we could already do these things.

17The technology for that is there as far as we have X-rays, we have um you know infrared, we have uh night vision and like that. Once they figure out how to put that into a eye and then put that eye into a person, it's scary. In a way that I could see at least the government signing off like, "Fuck yeah. Yeah, get our soldiers equipped with that." That would be like almost a race in a way because any sort of advantage that you can have, any sort of advantage that you can gain, you're going to try to do it right. I mean, no matter what it is, if it can get weaponized, we as people, we we tend to do that. We tend to make a weapon out of it. It's I guess the sad instincts of our primitive brains that I don't know it's just going to continue to have like a cyclical effect where it just keeps happening over and over and over again like the definition of insanity.

32But I got no doubt in my mind if I had to bet. Obviously, I can't see the future, but if I had to bet, I'd say we got like a 85% chance that the future is going to be transhuman because it's going to start with stuff that's innocent. It's going to move forward to things that could be weaponized and for soldiers and police and then eventually it's going to go out to the majority. Of course, it will never be like the military grade type right? You feel me? But we will get some version of what can be out there. We as in the majority of people, the majority of citizens of the world. And then it's going to quickly be the determining fact.

29It's going to be like getting a college degree back when that mattered. Yeah. Not right now. Unless you're like a wanting to be a doctor or a lawyer or some like that where you literally need to go get a degree for it. But remember when I don't know if you didn't know how to and I say remember when like we're all old enough to to remember this. you if you didn't know how to tend a farm, you were likely going to going to be left behind by society. You were going to starve. You weren't going to do well. You need to keep with the times. And this transhuman future, you don't have bionic arms. You know how like on a lot of job postings must be able to lift 25 pounds or must be able to lift 50 pounds, whatever the they're going to they're going to change that Must be able to lift 800 lb.

38You just just just lift that cuz we've uh we've upgraded our needs. Bionic arms, bionic legs. How else would this be applicable sports? Like literally since like coliseum days, we like the gladiators and you feel me? We we love to see the football games and rugby and basketball. I was I was trying to keep with uh more physical sports like like football, rugby, but you feel me? Like we love these. We love to see people that are at like top physical performance, the elites clash at each other like they're the Titans. You know what I'm saying? Like Clash of the Titans type We love to see that.

36And again, we as in people, I get it. Not everybody is into sports. Everybody's different. All that But we as people for centuries and centuries since like again like back in coliseum days and it probably goes back even further and in different cultures. Obviously I'd have to do like research to to really be able to spit off all these facts for you like that. But we always love to see the elite perform do these different crazy physical feats that it's like, "Oh my god, I can't believe they did that. Holy Did you see that going against the lion? And now, you know what I'm saying? You got again, you got sports. We've continued it. Think about the UFC, like MMA and like that. That's literally watching two people that are like elite fighters go into a cage and just just fight it out.

34Like when somebody gets knocked out, it's like, "Oh shit." Like, you know what I mean? like damn if that's probably the most I would hate to use the word primitive but damn that that feeling that we get from that that humans get from that that goes back a long time. There's no reason to believe that that wouldn't translate over to transhumans. This has transhuman legs. He can jump all the way to that the top of that skyscraper and then go down. Jump all the way down doing all these different like acrobatic flips and tricks like a gymnast gymnast or whatever. And then they do some crazy land and you see the crack when they when they land down. But it's okay because they're transhumans. Oh my god.

34What? Think about think about we we see people already they just uh like in the Olympics you see people going for for different races. Imagine the transhuman Olympics you feel me where the fastest person can now go 342 miles per hour. You know I don't know how crazy can this get. your your transhuman arms can actually rotate so fast that it's able to to simulate I don't know the the helicopter propellers and you're able to actually fly around like some weird looking superhero. You know what I mean? Like I don't you don't know we don't know what type of future is really in store and it's going to start off super innocent. super like yeah like yeah man. What you mean this kid that was born blind?

30Like man that's that's really how they're gonna get you. Child and nine-year-old kid born blind can now finally see for the first time. Cue the music, man. Yeah. yeah. Look at that smile. They can see. Look at them seeing their their brother and their sister and their mom and their dad for the first time. Oh my god. You're not American if you don't if you don't you're not you don't have a heart if you don't stand up and clap for that Fast forward 20 years. Everybody's a cyborg. It doesn't It's not going to start off that way.

26And then there's going to be people, like I was saying rather sarcastically in the beginning, that they'll stand up against that. They'll be like, "Hold on." But you know what I'm saying? Like there's people that stand up against basically everything. Like even if a whole bunch of people think it's think it's okay. And you know what I mean? Like I examples don't really matter for that. It won't matter. You know what I mean? You can have no matter how many people have their signs and say no abortion, uh, abortion equals murder, whatever the there's still going to be people the girls are going to just go in and, you know, kind of look down or whatever. Go inside, get their procedure, and then and then leave. Like, it's still going to happen. You're not really stop anything. You're just kind of you're feeling like you're you're speaking your voice on something you really believe in.

22No matter how many people have their signs outside of SeaWorld, talking about the horrific stuff that they do to the workers there. And um I guess that shit's top of mind cuz I just watched this movie. Uh well, I like like half watched it. I I half of me hates watching like that. So I have to walk away sometimes. But my girl put it on this movie called Blackfish. Crazy. Crazy. What? But I hate the zoo and aquariums and like that. Anyways, we we just like got these in in prison. But um cool. It's a lion. The is wrong with you? Anyways, my personal beliefs and opinions aside, you have people that are sitting here protesting outside of SeaWorld while thousands and thousands of people every single week will continue to go to SeaWorld and they'll continue to make billions and billions of dollars and all of that It's It's kind of like how it is.

32So, who gives a if you stand up talking about transhuman is bad? Make America human again? We gota we got to stand together. Stay organic. Some more organic food need organic humans. No matter how many people protest, even if it's half the world, there's still going to be the other people that are like, "Yeah, that's okay." And this isn't one of those where, okay, well, I just want to go to SeaWorld, so you. Oh, I just want to get an abortion, so you. And you know what I mean? Where you could just do all these things and it doesn't really change too much. Transhumanism, again, imagine if you get transhuman arms and now a punch to the face can put you through a brick wall, Talking about talking about, "Oh, don't don't do this bro.

32I got a transhuman chest completely." In fact, I went full transhuman, bro. You can't tell cuz I got the synthetic skin, but I'm bulletproof, The you thought? Yeah. Yeah. This is This is different. Thought you could sneak up on me, I can see five miles away in the dark. This one's different because the people that do decide to go with it, they will come out of that process, out of that procedure and end up with a benefit. Not a benefit, a uh what's the word? See, if I had that transhuman mind, I would I would be able to recollect all of this and have the perfect memory.

33Of course, my mind would have to be uploaded and shared with the uh the the cloud, but uh it's okay. It would be worth it for Perfect Recall. You would have that advantage. Talking about a benefit, you would have an advantage coming out of that procedure. That's that's just straight up like I don't I don't have to worry. I got transhuman eyes. I don't have to worry about my eyesight going down. So, um, talking about transhuman legs and arms and all of this I don't have to worry about my body getting tired. Yeah, I I can work as long as you need me. Don't Don't worry. Yeah, I have a transhuman brain. Like, you know what I mean? I have I have the chip inside of my brain. Cool. That's perfect. Hey, um, Mr. employer or Mrs. employer, don't don't worry. I have perfect recall. any sort sort of instructions, I'll be able to remember them perfectly and make sure that I've, you know, adhereed to all of the rules and directions that you've given me, whatever the It'll start to be like, ah, I'd love to hire you.

35It's just, you know what I mean? these people with the you don't have the the um the brain chip 3000 and that allows you to continue to work for 18 hours and even when you're in rest mode and you're just like sleeping and continuing to do your work and they turn us into ro I don't know man I'd have to be writing sci-fi to actually know the future and even then that to predict the future rather but even then and it could end up turning out good. And the thing is I feel like a lot of people that say, "Bro, like that shit." I would never do it until you need it though or until like someone you love needs it. Like what if you know what I'm saying? Like like your loved one their heart just gives out. I think like heart disease.

31Isn't that the number one killer in America right now? So it's imagine their heart gives out. You can get a transhuman heart. It literally does not ever stop. It doesn't stop. The weird thing is like obviously like when when your loved one does pass away, it's going to have a weird feeling to it because you're going to still hear the transhuman heart beating. I'm I'm so sorry. That's the only that's the only real uh downfall to it. But on the bright side, you don't have to worry about like clogged arteries and like that. I don't know. I feel like people that know the actual science and like the the actual details, the medical details behind all of these different procedures be like, "Bro, that's not how it works. you. Damn it. I'm trying." Yeah, man.

31Um, the future is transhuman. It might be again if I had to say the chance is 15% chance that we don't go that direction that we're just like, hey. But again, think about think about AI, how fast that is continuing to accelerate. I don't see that slowing down. I don't see no matter how many people are like, "Hey, y'all seen y'all seen the movies? Come on." No matter how many times that we see different posts or videos or see people talking about this they're saying, "Hey, let's slow down with it." Bro, at the end of the day, we are and we as in people are putting millions if if not billions of dollars into AI. Got to be first.

28We got to make sure we get the best, the newest. You see them over there? That shit's getting good. We got to be better. I feel like that's a good thing, though. Of course, like anything, you could you could drink too much water and it's bad for you. But I think for the most part, it's a good thing that we want to keep being better. We want to keep getting newer stuff because better, yes, because we want the newer stuff and we want a further technology, it might lead us into different territories like this. But because we want better. Better doesn't just mean like better like like as in it's an actual better product, but better as in morally better. Better as in hey on our conscious we can actually feel better about this. I don't know. I was trying to think of I was trying to think of some some examples for that like how they used to say uh cell phones would like give you cancer or whatever.

34But then I don't know, isn't it where like slaves or something are are mining the cobalts or it's some some crazy like the dark the dark uh truth about the different parts that come in our phones and like that. I don't know. At the end of the day, it actually does seem like our species just doesn't give a We just want to We just want to make it better. Just make it make it newer. Make it shinier. I want to be in the halves. Susan over there is in the have knots. Look at that. Ken, we're on top of the world. If the future is transhuman though, the question is how many people really would go with it? How many people would it be? Cuz it doesn't matter if it is only 20%.

34That 20% is going to be the elite. You know, even if 80% of the people are like, "No, that. What are you going to do?" They're bulletproof. They can punch through you. They can see through buildings. They can have perfect recall. They know everything. Any movement that you think that you could come up with, they have AI backed brain chips that are installed. So they literally outthink us, out move us. They outd do us in every single way. Even if we're the majority, they're 20% is still greater than our 80. I don't know though. Will it be in 80%?
