Can you answer these dilemmas for conjoined twins?
Episode 18 · January 16, 2026 · 58 min
What happens when one conjoined twin wants to chill and the other wants a corporate job? XO works through the wildest dilemmas of sharing a body: whose life you live, whose burger diet tanks whose energy, what happens in court, and why the people who live it deserve nothing but respect.
About this episode
XO started wondering what it's like to be a conjoined twin and fell down a rabbit hole of dilemmas. What happens when one twin is a night owl who wants to party and the other has a 9-to-5? Whose life do you live, and how do you share privacy in one body?
Then the harder ones: whether you can press charges against your own twin, what happens when one wants a vaccine and the other doesn't, whether one twin's burger habit can tank the vegan twin's energy, and what happens when one twin's demons put both at risk. XO ends with nothing but respect for people who actually live it.

00I was thinking the other day about what it would be like to be a conjoined twin. And if you don't know what conjoined twins are, they are just like normal twins, except for when they're in the womb, for some reason, their bodies don't separate. And when you know they come out into the world, you find that their bodies are conjoined in some form or fashion. And in some cases, you're able to do a surgery to remove the twins from one another without risking, you know, any harm to them. But there are some cases where it would be too risky to attempt that surgery. So the conjoined twins have to coexist with one another. And the idea of coexisting with somebody on the ultimate level is is is something that that really fascinated me. And it caused me to go down a rabbit hole.
55And as one naturally would, I started having a whole bunch of questions. I started thinking of a whole bunch of different insane scenarios and situations where it would be crazy to find myself in if I was a conjoined twin. And I narrowed it down to seven of the craziest dilemmas I could think of. And it really left me just scratching my head on what would happen, what would I do, what should be done, is there a law in place for this, is there a a a situation where this has actually happened? Like I said, I went I went down a rabbit hole, but it was it was something that made me kind of want to do a thought experiment on each dilemma because I don't know, it raises a whole bunch of different moral values that that you kind of have to question and lines that have to be drawn that may have not been or may never be crossed.
02So, it's kind of just one for the hell of it. But the first one I could think of is like a jail scenario. What happens if one conjoined twin commits a crime and the other one doesn't? Do you have to serve the jail sentence along with your conjoined twin? I mean, how do you how do you do that? How do you how do you convict somebody knowing that there is going to be an innocent person right next to them that has to serve that same exact jail sentence? Is there a jury in the world that would convict that person? I mean, I guess it would depend on the crime, right? At what point would it be? I mean, not even a question. We have to we have to put this person away. we have to take this person outside of society.
00I'm sorry that you have a conjoined twin that had nothing to do with this. And then that's uh that's when I started thinking, wait a minute, if you are a conjoined twin, that means you are right next to somebody as they're doing whatever crime that is. I'm starting to see how there would be an angle where any prosecutor would start saying, "Wait a minute. You were there that whole time. Not only are you going to be there to serve your twin sentence, but you're going to have your own sentence that you're technically serving as well because I mean you were part of it. Are you not?
56Did you Did you actually try to tell somebody or you didn't know? You didn't know it was happening yet. I find it really hard to believe when you are right next to your twin literally every single second of the day. What I'm seeing right here is an accessory to fill in the blank of whatever crime that their twin is being accused of. What? I'm an accessory automatically. Does that make you an accessory if you are a witness of your twin committing a crime? Or could you say that you were in duress or under duress rather? Because well, if your twin gets caught, that means you get caught. Not because you actually did anything, but by proxy and you have to serve any jail time that your twin has to.
58So, I mean, your honor, can't you see that my client here was just put in an unfair situation? They didn't have any choice but to stay silent because they were putting their own life in jeopardy. Again, by proxy, anything that physically comes on their twin, any sort of consequence, my client would have to, you know, suffer the same thing. Is that fair? And then that's when, you know, you would have a jury trial and you got people that's thinking, what is fair? you know what's right, what's wrong. It's all it's all things that we have come to a consensus about.
56It doesn't necessarily mean that it is right or wrong. I mean, is there a right or a wrong? Well, you know, you should not murder. Well, you know, why why not? Well, it's just it's just wrong. You shouldn't do it. You shouldn't inflict any violence on somebody else just because you can or because you want to take something or whatever damn reason you think is justifiable enough for you to take somebody else's life. It's just wrong. You shouldn't do it. Yeah, but why? Well, what do you mean? I just told you. I mean, all of those are just feelings. you feeling some some type of way about whatever action you just witnessed. You're the one who is deeming it right or wrong. And that's why I said all of these are just a consensus of what is right and what is wrong, what is fair and what is unfair.
58So, would a jury be able to convict a twin, no matter what their crime is, knowing that their conjoined twin would have to suffer the same consequence? It's not right. It's not fair. But I bet under the right circumstances with the right jury and you know right I don't mean right or wrong but I I think you could see that outcome where somebody thinks it's justifiable and say you know what I'm sorry but your twin is a monster and you can say what you want. You might not be charged for accessory but you were a part of that You had a duty, an obligation. We have a consensus of what is right and what is wrong. Who cares if you would have had to suffer the same consequences as your twin, even if you didn't break the same rule.
57You know, it's a wrong place, wrong time. Except no matter what place your conjoined twin finds himself in, that's the place you are. But that uh that leads me to the next dilemma that I uh I thought about which is having a shared life schedule in general. Like when you sleep, do you have to consider when your conjoined twin sleeps? Do you have like a curtain you put between or is it one of those things where conjoined twin A is, let's just say, super responsible and is on time with their sleep schedule, with their eating, and conjoined twin B. Well, they they are the complete opposite.
53They they get to bed when they want to. In fact, let's just say they're the complete opposite. conjoined twin B is a night owl. Likes to party, likes to to live life on the wild side, and that's always causing issues with conjoined twin A. Well, conjoined twin A wants to get some sleep. And at 900 p.m. every single night, they they go to sleep because that's the sleep schedule they decided. But conjoined twin B said, "I didn't decide that. I didn't choose to follow your schedule. I'm staying up. I'm playing video games. I'm watching some TV." And all of these studies that we see with, you know, you shouldn't have uh blue light. And you should you should really just have some time where your mind relaxes for the an hour or two before you do go to bed.
50And what whatever other study that you want to go ahead and site right there to say that wait a minute you're counteracting everything that twin A is doing you're counteracting it with your actions that's it's kind of selfish isn't it or is it selfish for twin A to even try to put this schedule on conjoined twin B I mean who's to say your schedule's right we just talked about right and wrong. There is no right or wrong. It's just what we consider right and wrong. That's why you can see monsters throughout history. And I say monster because I see monster. But the monster at the time, they were on a righteous path. They thought they were right. They thought they were doing God's work or whatever rationality that they had to justify the murder or the pillaging villages and taking over and I don't know setting fire to homes or whatever crazy monstrous things that has been done time and time again throughout history.
57Most people doing bad don't think they're doing bad and that's what's scary. So, bringing it back to the shared schedule, is it bad that I just want to chill all day, conjoin twin B, and you just want to go to college and, you know, get get a full-time job doing some corporate thing that I never wanted to sign myself up for. And now I'm in your life. or are you going to come into mind? Is it some sort of shared experience where half of the month we're going to go in your damn cubicle and work where you know you see every singlebody that you work with and when they bring their you know lunch to work you smell exactly what they have and Barbara has tuna salad again and I didn't even want to be here.
57I'm supposed to be chilling. Supposed to be chilling with my people, man. And instead, I am at this job. I know plenty of ways to get money. You know what I mean? I do it online. I don't know. Conjoined twin B isn't trying to play by the system, bro. Isn't trying to be trapped down by the man, but conjoined twin A wanted to go to college. Well, that sucks because whether you want to or not, if you want to have any sort of life on your own, you have to coexist. That's that's what's crazy about this. There is no, well, just well, them. Just walk away. You know, family, just because they're family, it doesn't mean you got to stick around with them. You know, just cuz it's blood. You could choose your own family. All these little cliches that you could say about cutting family off if they're toxic. Cool. But you can't you can't cut off your conjoined twin in this thought experiment where that would lead to death.
02You know this is our body. Two minds, one body. how you would find yourself at least if it even if it was fair spending half of your time doing something that you don't want to do and hopefully there is some overlap where we both like to do this so we do this a lot but those big life choices I do want to go to college well I I don't I want to travel the world. I'm going to miss my friends back home. I want to stay here. I don't I don't know what to tell you. I don't want to travel. I don't want to go to college. I don't want to do whatever. Fill in the blank. This is the craziest story of people having to coexist.
59Is it con constant and I mean constant compromise? And then how do you even compromise? Is it I'll let you do this if you let me do that. Or again, do you split up? Well, you have this week, I have the next. How do you even talk to your boss or your teacher or whatever that, hey, half the time I'm going to be gone? It kind of um it kind of makes you think about how many times that you've disagreed with somebody in your life and let's say specifically family where you disagreed with them and you were able to just be like whatever you do you I'm going to do me. Let's agree to disagree whatever it is where you just went your own way. How many times if you're a conjoined twin, there's one person you can never do that with.
59Not truly. You always have to face that disagreement or what? Live your life resenting the person literally right next to you. Let's go to the next dilemma. Um, oh this one's this one's a little spicy, man. This one's a little crazy. Um, one says yes. That's what I wrote. One says yes, one says no. Is it is it rape scenario? Um I didn't know how else to say. Is it like sexual assault? Um that's a that's a crazy one. I say again conjoined twin a doesn't want to wants to wants to wait actually. You know what I mean? Isn't isn't even focused on that. I'm going to college. I'm traveling the world. I'm doing all of this. I don't need anybody. But conjoined twin B is in love.
03Conjoined twin B is in love and wants to take it to the next level. well conjoined twin a they didn't even want to want to want to uh a relationship let alone take it to the next level that's we're talking about red flags we're in the in the bad area warning warning what the what what's happening what the we need to have a timeout what are you talking about conjoin twin me. you. This is my body, too. I'm in love and we're taking it to the next level. And you got some knucklehead that's just I don't give a I don't give a if this other person is saying no.
05You sure, babe? You sure we should do it? We should take it to the next level. They're saying that that that we shouldn't. I'm saying that we can't. It's my body, too. We're in love. I think that would have to be the weirdest and I mean the weirdest situation that you could find yourself in and actually going through with it. You got to be a special type of I'll say it up. You got to be a special type of up. If let's say, okay, yeah, you're dating one of the conjoined twins. You're dating conjoined twin B, but conjoined twin A right there is just saying, "No, please no.
03I'm not okay with it." What? Like, what do you do again? Do you get a curtain? Do you pretend like it's not the same body? And in this thought experiment, yeah, this part is one because I know that the way that conjo can join from what I've when I went down this rabbit hole the other day, I from what I saw there are different cases. It really depends on who what you know who controls what and how things work specifically. It's a case by case type of situation. You know what I mean? But in this thought experiment, this part is a shared experience. And I know it's dark. I know it is. But you got one that says yes and you got one that says no. And you got a third party that doesn't give a regardless.
00That is just like, oh, well, you know, what do you got to say? I heard yes. I know what my instincts say, but I'm going to raise the question anyway. Is that is that rape? Is it like half of one? And I mean that sincerely because to both parties it would be an experience that they share but they don't share. They physically share it, but mentally it's all about perception.
59Especially if conjoined twin A is being vocal about it, is clearly saying, and conjoined twin B and their significant other is just going along with it like conjoined twin A isn't there.
24Not only would conjoin twin a be able to press charges on this third party person, but could they press charges on their own twin? Because congratulations, you've reached the advertisement part of the show. We have just as many nonhuman cells on our bodies as we do human cells. It's thanks to those cells that this episode of Get Xuded has been brought to you by Strangers again by XO Xuded. Now streaming everywhere you listen to music. The end.
10I just want to be close to you. How do we fall apart? I gave my all to go? So wrong. Now we the strangers. Strangers. are. I never thought that we were strangers again. Had to cut off your friends. I know I'll end up asking been. And I just end up trying to see you again. It's like a constant reminder again. I miss the way that you touch me. I miss kissing your lips. You always thinking about you late at night. You on what it's like without you on my side and on my life.
59In some sense, you weren't part of it. And then I guess the argument for conjoined twin B is what are you talking about? This is my body too. I was doing that on behalf of my body. It's one of those huh well what do we do? Usually this is very set in stone. Usually this is very cut and dry. Usually we know what to do because I said should but would conjoin twin a press charges on their twin when again what are they going to do jail time? We going to do community service? Well, I'm there too. Going to do classes, some sort of intervention. I got to be there for whatever the you get yourself into.
00And that goes both ways. And there could probably be a story to be told or there would be a story to be told rather on both sides. It makes it easy to to just have one of the twins. It's kind of like a a loose cannon, a rebel doesn't give a Makes it an easy black and white story where it's just like But the reality is even more complex where just like people normally do, they have their own certain quirks and feelings about things and ideologies and whatever the case is. They're their own people, but at the same time, and I don't mean this offensively, obviously, they're not at the same time, you're your own person, but you're also at the mercy of your twin.
11And that's why it just it made me have a whole a whole bunch of respect. And I've never I've never met seen a conjoined twin, you know, other than like on the internet, but like in real life, I've never But it made me have a respect for them because damn, having to having to coexist on that level, it's beyond anything. People say marriage is hard. People say anything that deals with two personalities like mixing and and coming in conflict with each other and that's just being near each other because by nature you're going to have some sort of conflict. You won't always agree. This is the ultimate level where there's no running from that fight. There's no running from that disagreement.
10There's no just saying, "Well, you know what? you do you, I'll do me. Well, when you do you, I'm kind of doing that, too. It It really boggles my mind for real. But, um, I guess on a on a less dark note, this next dilemma, um, the next two are kind of kind of very similar. A lot of these are what one chooses to do with their body and what the other doesn't. what one chooses to do with their time and what the other one doesn't. And the next one I could think of was being pro or anti- vaccine. Like think about how CO just just happened a few years ago or you know I guess it's I guess it's been like 5 years now. But you feel me? This was something that is fairly recent. What to do if you're a conjoined twin?
11Well, we got to get vaccinated. Obviously, something's telling me that they rolled this out a little bit fast. I'm not exactly confident in this one. Conjoin Twin, let's say a saying, no, we we have to they're saying that this is this is bad. We have we have a duty more like if you're not scared, cool. But we we have a responsibility to go and get this vaccine. We got to make sure can join join B duty responsibility. Where are we going to go? I'll stay in. I'll do the little quarantine thing if it's if it's a law or whatever. But do I legally have to get this vaccine? No, you don't have to legal. Okay. Well, you know, I I don't think I want to. The You don't. We're getting We're getting the vaccine.
09Well, what do you do if you share a body, but you don't share the same beliefs on fill in the blank with the vaccine? Cuz I'm not saying any specific one. You know, most of them we get as a baby anyways, but you know, they say you step on a rusty nail, you should go and get a tetanus shot, which ended up finding out uh that that wasn't true. I ended up talking about that a few episodes back. That's not even true. Apparently, tetanus is just a bacteria and you don't even get it from rusty nails like that. And that's another situation where one of the conjoined twins can want to go ahead and let's just make sure and then the other one is could be a little bit more apprehensive. And it's just like I don't know this uh this whole shot thing you're talking about it doesn't it doesn't sound good.
10Um I think I'm going to pass. What do you do? What do you do? Let's let's fast forward. You don't want to get the vaccine, but conjoined twin A goes and gets it anyways. I don't know how. Again, there's some where it's just like they have to learn how to walk because you're only in control of one of the legs and, you know, you have to figure out how to work together. Talking about the the threeman foot race. That's why it's like a whole new level of respect. It's a whole new level of coexisting in a world where people can't coexist with one another in their city, in their own state, in their own country. There's so much division. So many people are divided.
10And yet being a conjoined twin, you find yourself in a situation where division is literally lethal. It's crazy. So if conjoined twin A goes and gets the vaccine, does conjoin twin B automatically get vaccinated as well? Could they suffer the same positive or negative effects of the vaccine? Is that fair? Is that right? Is there a case where you can actually like I say what? Sue, press charges. Again, it's just like even if you're just suing, it's like, well, you have to pay me money. Okay. Well, now I got to go to work to make sure that I get this money. And when I go to work, you coming with me. You going to be right there. You going to be clocking in and clocking out getting that that money basically just like me.
11Except it's even worse because you're just going to be sitting there doing nothing. At least I'll be able to pass the time by doing my job. You You won't be able to do any of that. And again, it's like depending on who controls what. It's just like does that mean it's like I I can't just chill here and I could listen to music, I'm guessing. But then anytime I want to change the song or something, I Hey, excuse me. I know you're working, but can I borrow our left arm? I don't know. You'd have to you'd have to come to some sort of agreement where it can't just constantly constantly be conflict, you know, where you can just say, "Fine, you think we should get the vaccine? Let's get the vaccine." The next dilemma I was thinking of is pro or anti-vegan.
15Another another dilemma about what you put into your body, except instead of a vaccine, it's the food that you eat. And people that are pro or anti or anti anti It's like antifreeze, but anti in this case or anti-vegan. They usually have some sort of like, man, you know, if you're if you're a vegan, how you going to get your protein? Or it's expensive. There's some sort of argument that the other one will have. And some of those arguments come on like like are on a health level. Like I feel better, my body functions better. And it kind of it reminds me of the whole sleep thing. If if you're not sleeping well, but I am, do I automatically get tired as well. If I know that my body feels better as a vegan and I have the discipline to do that, but you're the conjoined twin that doesn't want to do that and doesn't care if there's adverse effects on your body because this tastes good and you just want a burger.
23Okay. Do I have to feel those negative side effects? And how shitty is it really in this situation? It's more shitty for the vegan. In the last situation, if you get the vaccine, it's more shitty for the person who doesn't want to. And if you want to have the vaccine and you don't, it's more shitty for you. But in this one, you can't really stop the other conjoined twin from eating. You know, you either get the vaccine or you don't. But this one, what you you you can't eat that burger. No meat. And I'm I'm not sure like like fact check me on this one, but I'm pretty sure there's even cases where they do have multiple stomachs. Like two, not multiple, but like two like they each have their own stomach. Again, I think it's it's like a case byase situation. It depends on each one.
19But if you eat that carnivore diet or omnivore diet, let's say you have meat in your diet, but I don't want it to the point where I have like some negative reactions healthwise. Does that automatically like condemn you to just following the vegan diet? Damn, I really love burgers. Again, coexist. It's easy. It's easy to make a case when it's like, I really don't want this and I really do. And it's like they're just fighting, going back and forth, but coexist. You see your your twin actually suffering, actually getting lethargic.
14Again, let's just let's pretend it's conjoined twin A. They're going to school. They're doing all of the things that they're supposed to do. You resent them for making you do it. But on on a whole other level, there's a part of you that you respect them. You're proud of them. There so many things that you wish you were, and there's probably the same on both sides. But you look at them kicking ass and doing all these things and having goals and achieving them and setting their next goals and now because you decide to eat burgers and you don't have goals like that and you just want chicken chicken wings and you're them up. You're making them lose focus. Their energy is dropping. you've been able to figure out that it's because of the meat that's going into both of your bodies.
18Are you condemned to a vegan diet? because it's almost it's almost up of you if you continue to do that when you know you know if you have any sort of compassion when you actually see the effects if it's actually something noticeable it's one of those things that's like well I mean it doesn't hurt or we split the week again I don't even know how you split your time one week me one week you or you know 12 12 hours me, 12 hours you, or I I don't know. So, what if it was one of those, "Well, when it's your week, when it's your time, we'll eat vegan. When it's my time, we won't." It's It's a It's a shitty situation that you would kind of have to come to some sort of compromise for, you know what I mean?
14That that would be one of those that you either you either agree on the same diet or you both have to suffer the consequence of eating the quote unquote bad diet. The one that is you know what for whatever reason and that that's not even to think about allergies that might happen. What if what if one has like a peanut allergy but god damn it I just want a peanut butter sandwich. you you're just going to get a little bit of swelling. You're gonna just get a little bit or or does that condemn you to a diet of no peanuts. I don't know. Maybe that's one of those where like a doctor or a biologist, I don't I'm not sure who would be studying this, but that's when they they might say something like, well, if one has an allergy, there's a high likelihood that the other one would as well.
10But I digress. The uh the next dilemma is if one decides to drink or do drugs, will the other one feel the effects? If so, could they sue or press charges for drugging them? Um, well, We already we already kind of kind of went into the whole would you or wouldn't you even want to sue or press charges because any of those consequences, you'd have to be there for for the ride as well. But damn, like I said, all of these are basically one conjoined twin chooses to do something to their body and the other one doesn't. I choose to be vegan. You don't. I choose to be uh antiax and you don't. I choose to stay up late and you don't. I choose to go to college and you don't.
06It's it's all of these things where you're either splitting up what you want to do with your time or with your body. And for this one, I mean, this could have some serious consequences. What if can join twin B? and just a thought experiment, just a hypothetical situation. Can join and join B. Well, they started off liking a little drink or two. Then they moved on to some pilly pills. Then they decided to uh start, I don't know, shooting up some heron. Start doing the old I don't know the silver needle. I don't know slang for that They started to inject heroin. That's for some reason that's just like the scariest one for me where it's like like you're injecting that bro.
06You know what I mean? Like I don't know. And from what I've heard, it's pretty addicting. And no matter what it is, let's say one of them wants to smoke smack and crack his whack from what I've heard. But conjoined twin B, godamn it, conjoined twin B, you're just the troublemaker. How does that affect conjoined twin A? Does conjoined twin A go through withdrawals just the same? does conjoined twin A have any legal ground to stand on by saying you drugged me because I mean I don't do you even feel the effects if it goes in your bloodstream as soon as that happens I'm assuming like you would feel it too and I guess that's a that's a thought experiment that could be uh proven right or wrong by a real experiment.
20But it doesn't even have to be anything crazy. If you if you're conjoined twin B and you just want to drink, you want to take shots, shots, shots, but conjoined twin A has their midterms the next day, what you going to do? You can get all the sleep you want, but you're going to wake up hung over because your conjoined twin decided to drink. You got to be kidding me. I told you how important this was to me. I told you, man. You're just going into debt for no reason. This is some Just going to have to go get some job and I'm going to have to be there the whole time because we're just stuck like this. So, you. Yeah, I got drunk last night. Yeah, I decided to get a little loose. What am I supposed to do? just sit here this whole time while you're taking this goddamn test, this stupid ass test.
15I don't even give a about at all like this whole establishment, this whole job that you're even trying to get. What are you even trying to do? you. Yeah, I got drunk. I'm drunk right now. I'm still drinking. That's why you're hung over and I'm not. Or would they still be drunk, too? I don't know. I don't know. Would you have to get an intervention as well? Because whether you wanted to or not, if if you have a drug addiction as conjoined twin B, conjoined twin A automatically has one too. Physically, you have all the physical like withdrawals that you would have. I guess you would feel the high as well, right? That's the whole thought experiment of this. The whole idea of it is that you would feel it. I don't know. I don't know. Would you? Is it mental? Because you would think like like if you were doing like a psychedelic that would be mental, right?
19Those feel mental. It doesn't feel like as much. I don't know. I don't know. It just feels more like mental. You wouldn't you wouldn't be able to feel my trip just because we're in the or are we one? I don't know, man. I don't know. That's pretty up cuz conjoined twin A is like you got to go to rehab and conjoined twin B is like I'm not going to rehab and then conjoined twin A is just like this is some man you're on these drugs you're injecting yourself and god knows what with these dirty ass needles who knows what type of diseases you're giving us. You need to go to rehab. And you me just like you're right, but I think you mean we got to go to rehab, cuz you're coming with me. It's like, Every single consequence.
19Every single decision. It seems like that's that's crazy. That's insane. And It's not even the craziest one that I could think of. The craziest one I could think of is this last one. And oh, buddy. Oh, buddy. I just I don't know. I don't even know how you would even try to to go about a case like this. It just it Okay, because I'm making no sense, let me just read this If one attempts suicide and fails, is it also considered an attempted murder? If one can join twin be, I'm sorry, I'm just you're the one shooting up drugs and like that.
17I'm going with you. In this in this thought experiment, can join and twin B, they got some demons and the demons, they're catching up. If conjoined twin B decides to try and check out and they they don't quite hit the mark, they don't succeed. Well, one, whatever they decided to do, if it's like pills and something like that, it's kind of like the same question with the drugs where does that automatically go from one conjoined twin to the other where you're both affected? And even if it's something like using some sort of a weapon or something like that and it misses and is that one of those?
19Well, yeah. But remember when we said that if you get separated, you'll die. Your ultimate like you're basically condemning your conjoined twin to death. And when you did whatever you did, like whatever means that they they tried to do and failed, you didn't just attempt to take your life. You attempted to take theirs. And you're going to jail. You got to go to jail. And so do you. I guess I guess you're going to jail, too. I'm sorry. I'm sorry this happened to you and I'm sorry this is going to continue to happen to you because this person right here needs to go to jail. It's attempted murder. Is it? What a dilemma.
19What a dilemma. Because you could argue and say this had nothing to do with my conjoined twin. This had everything to do with how I feel. This has everything to do with what I want to do with my life. Everything that I want to do has been defined about what we want to do, about what we have to go and do, and and like that. I'm just I'm losing control. I'm I'm I'm losing it. I'm losing it. I lost it. And I've learned from my mistakes and I'm happy it didn't actually go through. But god damn, you're telling me that right now, even when I try to do that to myself, it's still being defined as I'm doing it to us. And because I'm doing it to them, it's attempted what is it? Attempted murder. You can you can say that there was like acting under duress or something like that or is it one of those things that you know what we'll let it slide.
37We're not going to we're not going to charge you with that. While uh while you're obviously already going through something and now I'm talking to you can join twin A. I'm I'm so sorry that you had to physically suffer the consequences and pay the price for the decisions and actions of conjoined twin B. I don't want you to worry. I'm going to get your twin some help. I'm going to get you some help. I'm going to get you some help. First, you're going to stay here 72 hours under supervision. Conjoined twin a, you know, pipes up immediately. My midterm was tomorrow or my class, whatever. I I got I got things I got to do. I'm I'm sorry.
35Your your your twin just there's there's no way that legally we we have to keep them. There's there's no way. I'm going to lose my job. I'm going to fail my class. I'm going to whatever. I know. I know. I know. It's hard. It's hard right now. I don't want you to think about that. I want you to just think about this is this is for your twin to get better. to start feeling better so that something like this doesn't happen again. Well, the 72 hours pass, everything's fine. Under the uh advisement for therapy, well, not just any therapy, intensive therapy, multiple times a week. And every single time they go to this appointment, conjoined twin A is right there.
38So whether or not conjoined twin B even gets charged with an attempted murder on their twin by attempting to murder themselves. Regardless of that, they uh they're going to serve a sentence anyways. They're going to have to be right there watching their twin get hopefully mentally better while trying not to build resentment of the fact that they really could have killed you that day. They really could have just ended your life and everything that you've been working for could have been for nothing because of their decision. Goddamn conjoined twin B has been putting me through help and making me basically do drugs based on their decisions.
37Putting these crazy substances into our bodies and laying with God knows whoever is willing to despite how many times I've been out loud saying that I'm not okay with this. This has been a life of hell. And I think there hasn't been any crazy stories like that that have been made to be like public knowledge at least because I mean because damn conjoined twins from birth learn how to coexist. They learn how to put their differences aside. And this is I guess just speculation because like I said before, full disclaimer, I've never met conjoined twins before.
36But I I I just couldn't help but think of all of these different situations that would be impossible to judge, let alone crazy and insane as hell to go through if that was you. it. I I I couldn't imagine having to go through life and basically run every decision by somebody that was right next to me my entire life. But of course, I say that. I say that as somebody that is not a conjoined twin, you know, but from birth, if you were put in that situation, maybe you just you use that muscle a lot earlier.
35You flex it a lot sooner and you become a lot stronger than anybody else when it comes to knowing how to coexist, knowing how to compromise, knowing when your decision doesn't just impact you, and being okay with letting yourself make a decision in spite of how you feel, in spite of what you want to do. We're such selfish animals. We're so damn selfish and we're greedy. We just want more and more and more and more. People do awful things in spite of it affecting other people and that's just being their own singular body. But now with the case of conjoined twins, you have two people sharing the same body proving to everybody everybody that it's possible to coexist.
44It's only insane scenarios to me when I look at all of these different dilemmas. I bet there's probably conjoined twins out there that would hear that and be like, "Well, that would never be us. We wouldn't even get to that point. We wouldn't even we wouldn't even get there. That's just like that's so so far out there that it's almost not even worth being a thought experiment." And for me, it's just like, wow. You see how I mean, I see it in I've seen it in so many different twins growing up, you know? I've seen seen a whole bunch of different twins where you see one is the exact polar opposite of the other and who knows if that's just to spite the other and it's because you know like trying to have their own identity and just you know I look exactly like you so I'm going to make sure that I have my own personality something that is the complete opposite of you who knows what the origin of it is but the fact of the matter is you see twins and siblings in general that are polar opposites of each other, that were raised in the same exact environment, but in spite of that, they're their own people.
57Just like we have fingerprints and tongue prints, apparently we we have our own unique personalities and desires and wants and beliefs. And so many of these things lead our body and our times in in a certain direction where we spend our time doing a certain thing because we believe a certain thing. We let certain things happen to our bodies because we we're okay with that. Like again thinking of one conjoined twin saying I don't want sex before marriage with the other one saying I don't care. I don't I don't see it as being that deep. What do you mean no? Well, don't worry. I'm saying yes. What do you mean you you don't want to go to college? I'm going to I signed us up. I'm I'm already in debt. I'm like I need to go. You're going to have to suck it up. Crazy insane dilemmas that hopefully hopefully no conjoined twins actually find themselves in these dilemmas.
00And if it is something mild like the pro or anti anti See I did it again anti or anti anti anti antia vaccine or anti or prove vegan or whatever like those are those are those are small things and maybe those things it's like yeah we we talked about it we discussed it and honestly we we figured something out or Actually, dude, you don't even realize the way that our bodies truly work. Um, we actually have it where I can be completely vegan and what my conjoined twin eats has nothing to do with with me. I don't know. But, uh, what I do know is, again, I know I know I said it earlier. I guess I just want to end it on a nice a nice note.
02Nothing but respect, bro. I got nothing but respect cuz that's that's crazy. That's that's an existence that I'm like it's it's almost hard to even think about. It's almost hard to even imagine. and people do it. But that's that's us, right? That's why it's it's it's no different, I guess, if you were born blind or deaf or born with anything that somebody would consider quote unquote disability or different or something that you'd have to overcome or again, there is no right or wrong. There is no good or bad. It's just different different outcomes. But kids that were born blind or deaf, they it's just life.
01They're used to it. They're used to it. So being conjoined twins at birth and not being able to split apart, yeah, you might have arguments. Yeah, you know, there there might be things that you have to compromise on, but this this is life. They're they're used to it. That's that's pretty cool. It's pretty cool, man.
